Sweet corn never ceases to ‘a-maize’ me!! It is designed to grow and grow it has…even in less than favourable conditions!! ?

As we go into a few chilly nights and not so warm days we can be very thankful that this little guys’ growing point is still in the seed. At around the 6 leaf stage it will transfer its nutrient needs to the well established roots and chlorophyll creating leaves! In the meantime the seed will continue to provide its nutritional needs ? which should allow it to come through a bit of frost reasonably unscathed!
