With a colder than normal week in our rear view mirror and more rain in the forecast, our beautiful crop of corn is still looking great…although a touch paler than we like to see! Considering what it has just had to endure we are so thankful to see it at the 5-6 leaf stage and marching right along!

At this stage the nutritional responsibility of feeding the growing plants has officially transferred from the stored reserves in the seeds endosperm to the roots and leaves! What an exciting time in the life of a corn plant as the dependency stage and adjusts to adolescence and independence!
